March 2018 is the 10th anniversary of Orchard Computer Services acquisition of Computer Support (Bristol) Limited.
Owned by Ray Smith, Computer Support were based in Clifton and traded as “IT Help”. Ray and his team of four engineers joined us in March 2008 and we integrated them and their customers into Orchard.
Like Orchard, Computer Support had a diverse range of clients that included businesses, charities and housing associations. However, the acquisition led to us also supporting a Concert Hall, a Race Circuit and a Ballooning Company. The integration was a great success and the majority of those customers are still with us 10 years later.
In the early days, Ray Smith played a large part in the successful transition. He was then able to take on a part time role before eventually retiring in 2010. Sadly, Ray passed away in 2016 but he is still fondly remembered by his colleagues and customers.
Ten years on and two of the Computer Support employees are still with Orchard. Paul Sams continues to be an important member of the Helpdesk team while Neil Redmore is now our Technical Sales and Solutions Manager.
In summary, the acquisition proved to be a great success so a big thank you to all the customers and employees that helped make that possible
