Matthew Baker – Orchard’s Cyber Essentials Practitioner

In addition to being Cyber Essentials certified ourselves, Orchard have assisted many of our customers to also achieve that status. In the past, this has been accomplished using a “do it yourself” self-assessment questionnaire. However, changes are being introduced by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre) from April that will change the route to certification. Designed to further improve the standards, the number of people and organisations allowed to oversee the process will be greatly reduced.

But the good news is – Matthew Baker, who joined us in October, is a Cyber Essentials Practitioner. In March he will be attending an event at Indelible Data Limited, this will not only bring him up to date with all the latest information, it will also confirm Orchard Computer Services as one of their Trusted Partners. And that of course means our senior technical team can continue to help businesses meet the latest security standards.

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials certification shows your commitment to security, demonstrating to your business partners, regulators and suppliers that you take cyber security seriously.  The scheme provides security controls that, according to the UK government, could prevent “around 80% of cyber attacks”
