Our picture features Jamal who plays as a striker for the Yate Town Under 13’s in the Junior Premier League.

In 6 games this season, Jamal has scored an incredible 26 goals. His performances have earned him a place in the Junior Premier League representative side alongside another Under 13 – attacking midfielder Henry Sady.

By playing in the league representative side, players get to test their ability against a range of professional academy teams from around the country. This also means they are playing in front of a number of professional football club scouts. During the last game, Jamal was invited to represent Swindon Town FC in matches against Liverpool FC and Cardiff City FC.

James Mapstone, Youth Development Director at Yate Town FC said “It’s a great opportunity for our young players to test their ability against professional clubs from around the country and we thank the league for their forward thinking and providing player development pathways. We hope that by promoting the success of our young players, we can continue to raise the aspirations of the many other young talents we have at Yate Town.

The picture shows Jamal at the Liverpool FC Academy prior to his appearance there for Swindon Town. On Saturday he played for them again in their match against Cardiff. His success in those games has resulted in Swindon offering him a 6 week trial.

Congratulations Jamal. We wish you, and all the Yate Town youth players, every success for the future.
