Network Security is essential and there are many products and solutions available to help protect your systems and their data.  However, all systems eventually need to be retired and their data can still be recovered if it falls into the wrong hands.

For several years, Orchard Computer Services have used a disposal company that provides data wipe certification and complies with the WEEE recycling regulations.  Following the introduction of GDPR in 2018, we decided to offer our customers an extra level of reassurance.  Prior to them being collected, we can erase disks using software provided by

Blancco data erasure solutions have been tested, certified, approved and recommended by 15+ governing bodies and leading organizations around the world. No other data erasure software can boast this level of compliance with the rigorous requirements set by government agencies, legal authorities and independent testing laboratories.  Those governing bodies include the UKs National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).  The blancco software can erase most disk types, this includes SAS, SATA, SCSI and SSD.

There is a small fee for the disks to be securely wiped or destroyed but it’s minimal when compared to the potential fine for a breach of GDPR.
