Vacancy – Trainee IT Support Engineer

Trainee IT Support Engineer

Based in Yate, on the outskirts of Bristol, Orchard Computer Services have been providing Network Solutions since 1990. We install and support IT Security Products, Hardware, Operating Systems and Key Applications. Secure data centres in Newbury and Cardiff provide Server Hosting and, key to our Disaster Recovery Assistance, Offsite Backups. We support organisations throughout the UK from a wide variety of industries and charities. We partner with many of the leading IT manufacturers including Microsoft, Dell and HP

This trainee role provides an ideal opportunity for someone enthusiastic to join a thriving IT service provider where you will be given the opportunity to learn, grow and develop your skills. Skills that will enable you, in time, to progress into more senior roles.

Our standard support hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. However there is an expectation that following initial training you will join the early start / late finish rota that allows us to provide extended cover to our clients from 8am to 6pm.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion to work with both IT and in the service industry. They will have an excellent telephone manner and able to produce good written communications. Previous IT knowledge will be an advantage but not essential as attitude, drive and passion will be the main success factors.

This role is office based, however, having a clean and full driving licence would be useful and allow the successful applicant the option to assist our field engineers and add to their learning program.

The company actively supports and encourages our technical staff to gain and retain competences with Microsoft and our other partners.

This is an office-based role so applicants must be able to travel to our Yate HQ on a daily basis.
